Today Is Not My Day

I woke up to Ella quietly sobbing outside of my bedroom.  When I asked her what was wrong she said her tummy hurt.  This is nothing new...she often complains of stomach pain when she is hungry or has to go to the bathroom.  I tried to get her to eat, she didn't want any breakfast.  I asked her if she had to go to the bathroom, she said she didn't.  So I sat her on my bed, turned on PBS and took a quick shower.  When I got out of the shower, she was still sitting in the same spot but it looked like she had been crying.  I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I drooled on your pillow."  I thought that was kind of strange but told her it was fine and continued getting ready.

After I woke Grace up, I sat Ella at the kitchen table and coaxed her into eating some cereal.  As she was eating, I went back to my bedroom to make the bed.  That's when I saw it...Ella had not "drooled" on my pillow.  She had vomited all over my bed.  I quickly stripped the sheets off, put them in the washer, and inspected Ella.  Sure enough, she had puke on her chin and all down the neck of her pajamas.  I don't know how I had missed it earlier!  By the time I got her in the bath, I knew there was no way I was going to make the almost hour long trip of taking Grace to school.  Ella was barfing and Seren hadn't eaten yet.  I called Jason and managed to drop Grace off with him and headed back home.

As soon as we got home, Ella threw up again.  This time it was all over the carpet.  I hurried and fed Seren, cleaned up the vomit, changed Ella again, and tried to get a little toast and juice in her stomach since she had just puked up breakfast.  I really wanted to look over my notes one more time before my test this morning, but that obviously wasn't going to happen.  I had just enough time to print out directions to the testing center and I was out the door.

So I drive.  I drive the 25 minutes all the way to Dublin and when I get there, they tell me that they don't test on Fridays.  WTF!  I had just checked the email.  I was at the right place at the right time and on the right day.  There must be some mistake.  Apparently there was.  Someone had scheduled me for today, just not at the Dublin branch.  I needed to go downtown.  So I drive.  I drive another 25 minutes from Dublin to downtown.  I get there and of course, the parking lot is full.  There is no place to park and I don't have any change on me because I wasn't expecting to have to park on the street DOWNTOWN!  I circled around the building for fifteen minutes before I finally gave up.  I decided to it was time to go home.  Disaster.  And the worst part is, I just wanted this test over with and instead I had to reschedule which means no free weekend - I still need to study!

To top it off, I became very homesick for Granview as I was driving down 33 today.  I need to move back to that side of town.

A Break

I have done nothing but study for the last three days and I need a break!  Thankfully my test is Friday so I only need to get through today and tomorrow.  It's been a LONG time since I last studied for a test and this one is giving me severe anxiety because it's over 30 chapters!  Hopefully I pass, I'll keep you updated!

Aside from studying I haven't really been doing too much.  I put our bedroom back together since Jason finished painting it.  I love the color!  I bought new bedding for Ella and Grace.  Their rooms are looking super cute and I was able to find a paint color for our bathroom too so the house is finally starting to come together.  It only took me three years but that's what happens when you combine pickyness with procrastination!

I managed to fight off another bout of mastitis.  This would have been the 5th time in the 5 months that Seren has been alive.  Luckily it never became more than a sore breast...I didn't have any other symptoms and I didn't have to go on antibiotics.  It magically cleared up on its own and I am not complaining!

I also took a few short breaks yesterday to send some baby advice to one of my closest friends, Heather.  She is having a little boy in March and she asked me about registering, etc.  I'm so excited that she is pregnant and I love being able to share all of this baby knowledge with a soon-to-be new mom!  It's been pent up for 3 years!  I also took a break to watch Modern Family.  It's my new favorite show!  If you haven't seen it, you should.  It is hysterical!!

Ella has been a very busy girl.  She finished soccer and was clearly the best player from beginning to end (said a very biased mom).  She is also done with gymnastics for the time.  We are going to take a small hiatus from activities due to the holidays and her third birthday!  I'll probably re-enroll her in gymnastics starting in January and I would love to get her into a dance class but I can't find any dance classes for toddlers.  If anyone has any ideas, let me know!

She has also been prepping for Trick or Treat.  We are practicing knocking on the door, saying "trick or treat", receiving candy, and saying "thank you!".  She is very excited to go tonight and I am very excited to eat her candy.  I will be sure to post pictures of the event later.

Lately Ella has started telling knock knock jokes.  It's pretty funny to watch because she doesn't always get the sequence right.  She will tell them over and over.  The girl never stops talking.  She drones on and on for hours - in full paragraphs.  She doesn't even seem like a toddler anymore.  The bear is all grown up!

Seren is getting cuter everyday.  At her 4 month check up she was in the 95th percentile in height and weight.  That's why we call her Chubba!  She always has a BIG smile on her face when she hears me or sees me.  She is constantly cooing and (unfortunately for my ears) she has started screaming.  It is high-pitched and it is loud!  Ella and I also figured out how to make her laugh any time we want.  We sing this song and jump around and Seren thinks it's the funniest thing ever!  I will never post any pictures or video of that!

Yesterday the little Chub Chub managed to grab a handful of my hair and then pulled as hard as she could.  When I started yelling in pain, she began laughing - really hard!  Then I started yelling for Ella to help me and when I looked over at her, she was pointing and laughing too!  I gave birth to two sadists!  As if I'm not losing enough hair post-pregnancy, I really need someone to start pulling it out in chunks!

So, that's all we've been up too.  Hopefully I will have some time to post Halloween pics tomorrow!

Will This Ever End...

I had completely forgotten I started this blog until today!  My good friend Courtney recently started one and that's what reminded me.  Today was a great day to remember...

Jason has joint custody of his daughter Grace.  She is here half of the week and at her mom's half of the week.  Her mother (I will refer to her as "Trash", which is what Ella calls her) has made this week a nightmare.  First, Grace became very sick with the flu (possibly H1N1) while in her care last weekend.  Grace was still sick on Monday so she stayed home from school.  Jason asked Trash if she needed him to take the day off of work and stay home with Grace.  Trash claimed that she would be home with her all day.  Long story short, Trash left the house at 8:30 in the morning and didn't return home until 4:30.  She left an 8 year old child with a high fever alone all day.

I tried to call CPS, they couldn't do anything about it.  Luckily Jason and I managed to catch her in the act and we will be bringing it up when we go back to court in March.  Poor Grace was sick with a high fever and vomitting for 5 days and Trash never took her to the doctor.  When Grace came into our custody, Jason took her to the doctor immediately.

Then, since Saturday was Trash's birthday, she was supposed to have Grace from 10am to 10am on Sunday.  She didn't show up until 11:50.  She never called or said she would be late.  Then she texted Jason and told him they were going out of town on Sunday so he couldn't pick Grace up.  He reminded Trash that the decision wasn't up to her and luckily, Jason managed to get Grace this morning.  Then the psycho showed up 30 mins early to pick Grace up this evening.  Again, she never called or said she was going to be early.  She just thinks she can show up whenever she wants.  When Jason told her she had to wait in her car, she began screaming at Jason in front of the kids.  He closed the door to get her to stop and she began violently slamming on the horn and ringing our doorbell.  She is a nut!

It just sucks because it's always something with her every other day.  But I hate to dwell on it b/c it's so negative and I have so many things in my life that are positive!  So that's enough!  My next post will be much friendlier.  Until then, here are a few recent pictures of my babies :)
