Hi! I am Jen. I am a 28 year old mother of two that lives in suburbia Ohio. I have been thinking about blogging for several years now. My good friend Bryan actually suggested it but he recommended Twitter. I'm not a big fan. It's too hard for me to post anything witty in such a small space. As it stands, I barely have time to shower, let alone blog, but I thought it was time I give it a try. So here it goes...
I have 2 very beautiful little girls. Ella is 2 and a half now and Seren is 3 months old today. Life before Seren was very different. My whole world revolved around Ella. I worried about every little thing impacting her life and actually used to drive myself to tears stressing out about what would happen to me if she died. (Crazy, I know!). Now that there are two of them, I don't have the energy to freak out about things I have no control over. Plus, I feel like I have become a much more relaxed mom. I still want my children to make the right choices and live their lives to the fullest but I've realized that it's okay for Ella to have some sugar once in awhile. A downside to Seren is that I think my patience level has dwindled down to zero. I used to think it was due to lack of sleep but I can't use that excuse now that she is sleeping 8-9 hours a night!
Right now I am a "stay-at-home" mom. This was a decision I made as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I had a horrific child-care experience when I was little and did not want my children to go through the same thing. But again, with the new relaxed, impatient me, I am now dying to go back to work. Unfortunately this is not the best time to find employment. After job-hunting for a little while when I was pregnant with Seren, I made the decision to get my second bachelor's degree in Human Resources before I go back to work. In fact, instead of typing up a paper I need to get done for a class, I am procrastinating by starting a blog! Good to know I haven't changed since college!
Speaking of college, I was very fortunate and made the best friends anyone could ask for at Ohio University. (Not to be confused with Ohio State - Go Bucks!). After graduation, we all went off to separate states but I have been really lucky this year and got to spend a lot of time with my girls this summer. My best friend, Shannon, is getting married on October 2nd and I am thrilled to be her maid of honor. Planning her bridal shower and bachelorette party have kept me busy this month. I can't wait until Labor Day weekend! My little sister, Jessica, is also getting married and has also asked me to be her maid of honor but luckily she's not getting married until next year. That gives me plenty of time to focus on each one separately!!
This is pretty much my life right now. I take care of my two little girls, my boyfriend, and his oldest daughter Grace. (Her mother is crazy...literally, she is a sociopath but that's a story for another day.) I am working hard at getting my second degree finished as soon as possible so that I can get out of the house for some adult interaction. And I'm gearing up for my responsibilities as a maid of honor. I guess I should get back to that paper now...maybe I'll take a break and post some pictures later :)
